It turned out that even I couldn't compile it for a few days. But It was not gcc 4.4
but a new Bison version.
Its now fixed (in git).

I run Debian Lenny and it's in libjack-dev (0.109.2-5).
What distro are you running ? This problem is
becoming a real Linux
audio annoyance.
What? Installing -dev packages for dependent libraries when building from
source?
