Oh no - I did understand it.
The feature that seems missing from everything else I've tried is the
ability to remap the stave to an arbitrary note mapping. This would
allow me to place drums in the 'correct' places on the stave (the
alternatives being to edit sf2's or write a midi filter to remap).
Of course, I'd also like proper drum notation too...
