HI all
I have success in a very stable edit session, after compilling it from
source, in Ubuntu 10.10. I did use the latest Community Version (
). I was experiencing many kinds of
crashes with packages versions, before.
Have to say I used only dv material.
Cheers

Although this was over a year ago, my experience with
cinelerra was *not*
this at all. It crashed frequently, and for undiscernable reasons. One
thing I remember in particular was that if I played my timeline, then
anything I did afterwards in cinelerra would cause it to immediately crash.
Thus I had to save, play, exit, and start it up again, every time I wanted
to preview my work. If I remember, I tried out both cinelerra and
cinelerra-cv, and both had similar issues. In terms of features, they are
both far ahead anything else, but the crashing is unbearable.

Thanks, I looked at the current release of
cinelerra, and tried it
under ubuntu and gentoo, crashed in both though. If it was stable It
looks like it would of been usable.
As I experienced, Cinelerra simply crashes when you try to open file
format, witch it doesn't supports.
In all other situations it is pretty stable.
