A few things they probably don't emulate:
- ageing and failure
- thermal noise
- temperature dependence
- electromagnetic pickup
- crosstalk
- microphony
- dirty contacts
And why should these be less relevant than what actually is
emulated ?
Yes, that's probably true, but the bottom line is: -I like it, and that's good
enough for me. :-)
