I think virmidi may be broken in 2.6.12.. I
couldn't get it to work. I am
back at 2.6.11 at the moment.
I do not have any problems:
% uname -r
2.6.12-RT-V0.7.51-33-ARCH
% sudo modprobe snd-seq-virmidi
% lsmod | grep -E '^snd_seq_virmidi'
snd_seq_virmidi 9216 1 snd_emux_synth
