I remember that I had the same issue in ubuntu 9.04 using seq24 from the
repositories.
It was solved just compiling the source from here:
http://www.filter24.org/seq24/download.html

Eh ) I just wish someone would fix seq24 for Ubuntu
9.04. So far, I've
never even had the chance to use it since none of the versions for Ubuntu
9.04 work.
