Apparently, I'm running arts. Great. One more
thing I don't really
understand.
Now, I've been to
arts-project.org and see that it's the Analog
Realtime Synth, blah blah blah.
Questions: do I need it to capture audio from the sound card? Should
I be trying to trouble- shoot it? Or is it getting in the way of
things?
artsd --help says you can select ALSA as the IO method. I wasn't able
to select it from the KDE control module, though. That a problem, ya'
think?
Anybody?
Once I found out that KDE starts the aRTs server
upon KDE Startup, I shut the think off immediatly.
I don't need another thing getting in My way. I do it
by going to...
--> Control Center --> Sound --> Sound Server --> (un)check "Start aRTs
Server on KDE Startup"
I think it may require a reboot to (un)activate aRTs (just to taunt
you further... hehe).
