Just did an update on one of my debian (squeeze) systems and
audacity
was one of the updates. It no longer recognised jack :(
Everything else is OK, and audacity works without jack.
Suggestions anyone?

I am on Ubuntu Jaunty and here Audacity never had any jack support. In
fact, to this point I did not even know there is JACK support in
Audacity!
Isn't Audacity's JACK support through portaudio rather than built-in? As
I recall Audacity needs some special steps to connect to JACK
(recompiling against Portaudio which has be compiled with JACK support
or something like that).
Yes, but portaudio (19) is there so I would have thought that the
debian guys would have made sure this was all working. I have now tried
this on a totally different machine (that I don't normally use for
music at all) with exactly the same result :(

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
