It's not recognised properly by linux (at least, at present), and
panics the system on removal.
That was a kernel bug, you need to update your kernel to 2.6.12 or get a
newer ALSA.
I'm going to play with it for a few days but
it's already got one flaw
that makes me want to send it back - when my laptop's plugged into
power it feeds hum through the whole system via the usb connector.
Sounds like your laptop is poorly shielded. I'm not sure this is the
audio interface's fault.
