I've got an
ASUS P4P800SE mobo with a 3.0GHz Prescott P4. It runs
great under RedHat 9 using the 2.4.26-1.ll.rh90.ccrma from Planet
CCRMA. Unfortunately, there are issues with it under FC2, which
keep the machine from even booting using the FC2 boot disks.
It would be interesting to me, and to others I hope, to understand what
it is about this particular ASUS board that prohibits FC2 from booting.
That doesn't make much sense. Was this with a beta/early FC2? I tried the
Planet CCRMA 2.4.26-smp kernel with the hyperthreading
turned on in my BIOS, but was getting too many xruns when I ran Ardour,
so I went back to the single processor kernel and all's well.
Just to confirm: This is on RH9?
