All of the multi-input cards offer that. You insert one
channel to one
jack and the other to an other jack, then mix them as you like.
It's been some time since I had a laptop or a PC that only offered
mono mic. Have you tried using a stereo microphone?
The IBMs, Dells and Toshibas I have used in the past and now even
could switch themselves to Line-In voltage levels.
