Hallo,

There is existing nomenclature and the phrase

To confuse matters, the term "pro" is used to imply

becomes used as a qualifier to describe many things.
Hmm, than maybe it's indeed just a matter of how this term is
generally used. I admit, that I approach it very naively by just
looking at the meaning of both single words, "pro" and "audio", but
if
"pro audio" indeed is meant to describe something different from
"sound design" (which also is a word combination, that could mean
anything, if one is honest) then I guess I will just (have to) accept
that nomenclature. Which isn't really a big problem for me, to make
that clear. I just would like to point out, that there are other
"pros" than just the "real" pro audio people, and that they have as
high, but a bit different, needs regarding quality of soft- and
hardware, as the engineers.
When I think of synthesis and sound design in Linux
Audio the person that comes to my mind is Frank
Barknecht.
/me blushes ;)
Ciao
