Some time ago I mentioned that I had problems with this when doing a fresh
debian squeeze install (I'd had no problems with a previous lenny install).
USB 2 memory sticks etc. were fine but my camera, midisport 2x2 and all other
USB 1 devices just locked the whole USB system up. I had more-or-less given up
with these devices on this machine, but when I did the latest round of updates
to the system I noticed there were both udev and USB updates.
I'm pleased to report all is now working correctly again.
