Yeah, the tube pre-amp of caps is really good for bass.
  Specifically Compress and AmpV or AmpVTS.  I don't
think the cabinet
 simulators sound good with bass, though. 
The cabinet-simulators on the other hand truly are guitar cabinets and thus
rather bad for bass...
