the suspend problem the OP had was a bug in the alsa backend.
and ALL 3 jack implementations have it fixed now.
But I guess now that empirical data is available which shows that
the opposite might be true regarding CPU scaling this doesn't stand
ground firmly anymore? A few mails later Paul does point out thought
that he wouldn't use CPU scaling on a realtime low latency machine
"at least not today".
if you want to be absolutely sure, then turn it off.
my machine handles scaling just fine though.
