Not as far as I can tell -- there's no output for `dmseg | grep
end_request' with either.
Hmm, that's unfortunate. This suggests the end_request error really is
relevant to the hang. I'll now grasp at straws. For a more rigorous
response log a bug with the guys who made that kernel build.
1. see if there is a BIOS version update.
2. see if there is a BIOS setting for "disabling" the floppy drive,
even though it isn't physically present.
3. if the system has hald running, (obviously with a working kernel),
then try disabling polling on the non-existent floppy drive ...
