I am using Fast Track USB.
I just tried using JACK and sending sound though PulseAudio sync, thx to
advice from Mike Noble... works!

I am trying it again and again, but apart from my
usb headset no other
sound cards record "monitor". They only record microphone. I have no idea
what else to do.
I have seen a variety of cards that provide this functionality. My current
Intel HDA motherboard chipset doesn't appear to do it, but the last one I
had did.
