In my attempt to stop the flipping xruns I get
even from a really simple
jack/fluidsynth (with 6.5mb soundfont) setup, I'm going to see if I can
get it to run without xruns at all- so I'm going to stop the X server
(which takes up quite a lot of cpu and memory).
that's not the problem Simon.
What kernel ?

Distro ?
Arch Linux

cat /proc/interrupts
do you use
Rui's rtirq?
What is that?
what's the output of 'ps -Leo

Why are there 2 qjackctls, 5 jackds and 3 fluidsynths in that list? I'm
only running one of each.
those are kind of several instances of the appis - ignore it, but go to
qjackctl->setup and make the 'priority' variable to 70.
i think the kernel you are running is not an rt-kernel?
cheers,
doc
Thanks
Simon
