Perhaps everything is done inside of the computer, on the HDD. The
recorders at least have got all the needed sync features.
Btw. there are analog and digital versions available for those Sony
recorders. The way video is done didn't really changed that much. In the
80s the computer was used without a GUI, to edit event lists and today
there are GUIs that show tracks instead of event lists.
