I have almost no idea how soundcloud works in the
details. I
looked at the options and there's no such thing as enable/disable
downloads. What I have is a free account.
When you upload a track or click on the edit (pencil) icon on the
track's page, there are three tabs on the upload page "Basic Info",
"Metadata" and "Permissions". The "Enable downloads" option
is on the
latter tab.
OK, done. So what are the pros and cons of enabling downloads ?
Pro: If people like it, they can take it away and play it any time anywhere.
Con: If people like it, they can take it away and play it any time anywhere.

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
