I just tried this on a Roland GR-50. It screwed up.
I've got SySex Buffer full error and then Buffer
overflow. As a result, I think I will have to find
a way to reset this thing because it messed up some
data and a few patches crash(!) the device (once
arrived at the patch there's nothing else I can do).
Guys, don't do this at home.
I just tried it with my DM-24 and it locks the box and
requires a "reset". The DM-24 has a Cancel option and
I suspect that saved me from losing anything.

Could anyone confirm that? I've got an Elektron
SIDStation and there is no other way to save
custom
programs than via MIDI/sysex. So if this does
not
work, I'll lose all my carefully crafted custom
programs.
Thanks a lot in advance.
