Hi Michal,
Damned, I feel bad about what happened to your synth.
I needed a solution, googled that thread and replied
to my own message. It looked promising. Were you able
to reset your synth?
A google search for "Roland GR-50 sysex dump"
produced:
http://www.hotkey.net.au/~citymusic/specs/RolandInits.txt
with the following entry is:
GR-50(D): Power on holding down WRITE, EXT & VALUE
UP.(Sysex Midi file which restores factory sounds is
available)
For the immediate, I'll probably use the Mac
application MidiGraphy for SysEx dumps with my DM-24
mixing consol.

I just tried this on a Roland GR-50. It screwed up.
I've got SySex Buffer full error and then Buffer
overflow. As a result, I think I will have to find
a way to reset this thing because it messed up some
data and a few patches crash(!) the device (once
arrived at the patch there's nothing else I can do).
Guys, don't do this at home.

Could anyone confirm that? I've got an Elektron
SIDStation and there is no other way to save
custom
programs than via MIDI/sysex. So if this does
not
work, I'll lose all my carefully crafted custom
programs.
Thanks a lot in advance.
