I would use the line in. I would only use the insert jack if I was
actually using it as a loop, unless I knew it was OK to do otherwise.
Would all this be worth the trouble? Will using tube
preamplification change
the attainable tones?
It depends on if you like the tube pre better than a computer model of a
pre-amp. I would imagine that the answer would be yes, you do want to
use the pre-amp.
