So I guess my question is simply: is netjack2 really that capable
and if so, what are the tweaks involved to get seemless audio using
it.
Does anyone here use netjack2 ... and if so, what is the primary
purpose?
are you running the slave jackd with -S ?
thats necessary.
I wasn't, but did and the xruns subsided substantially. But still
nothing that I would consider "studio quality".
I did some network tests and although I have a small(er) pipe, jackd
with the -net backend only consumes ~2% of the bandwidth with 2
channels of audio. There are no bottlenecks on the client or server
machine: cpu is 98% idle, I/O is minimal -- so I'm left wondering.
I'd really like to use this as I have random machines hanging around
that could pick up small duties, like the tasks described in that
article.
[insert some random bitching about netjack2 here]
I think it is an excellent tool -- well, I want it to be an excellent
tool ;)
