Stop using Ubuntu. Their realtime kernel is seriously flawed in many

I've been using 8.10 without the rt kernel and am fairly happy with it
as a general purpose system. However, for my music purposes I need an rt
kernel, hence the original post.
Since Ubuntu seems to be going down the Microsoft-like
"You will do it
our way or you will not do it at all" route, I can no longer recommend
Ubuntu for any purpose.
I assume you refer to Intrepid ? Hardy seems well-regarded and (IIRC) is
now the basis for the upcoming release of 64 Studio 3.0.
