Not too sure about Mackie, but our tascam just stores the audio in wav
format. And from what I remember the rest are pretty much the same.
So the way I do it is to mount the hdr's disk under linux, and copy the
files over. I found a cheap source for the disk caddies so that made
life a lot more simple.

could use Linux to capture the music to harddisk.
If anybody has any experience, please let me know. Otherwise we will
proceed with one card and thus 24 channels at a time, which does work.
