There is, just ignore all this and use the realtime LSM until the
distros get it sorted out. It's insane to expect normal users to
modify /etc/security/limits.conf and understand PAM.

I also have edited /etc/security/limits.conf as found
on the web.
It now contains something like
@audio - rt_priority 95
@audio - nice -10
@audio - memlock 300000
but to be honest I have no clue which app read or use this.
