Are you sure this is supposed to work? With USB 1.1
no
less? Please check the hardware docs for the Aureon. AIUI
many USB audio devices do not like being connected through
a hub, and will not work this way.

Unfortunately, it makes no difference at all. Sorry, I forgot
to write that I have tested it without hub some time before.
