My idea was to run macos/ppc VST plugins on linux/x86.
And not that I
want to run that, but I thought it could be an easier way to be able to
use some vst plugin in linux than running a win32/x86 VST plugin on a
linux/x86 system. But as you mention, it is insane... (as a damn simple
user without lots of knowlegde about these issues, I thought that linux
was "closer" to macos (because unix based) as win.)
While as you realised it is not so easy with macos/ppc It MAY be much
easier with a macos/x86 vst when those become more commonplace. I am
personally waiting to see, and hoping this is very true as the switch to
x86 COULD benefit linux greatly because of this.
