Hello Will!
Thanks for your two pieces. I can't say, I'm very particular to Ride with
Yoshimi. Certainly impressive, what Yoshimi can do with teh right CPU power
behind it. But I don't like a few of the sounds and the piece itself is too
happy for me. So any comment would be tainted.
Between the stars is a different matter. A few very nice patches in that.
Very ethereal and much more interesting to my ears. Also the darker mood is
more pleasant. Still a little tame, where darker moods are concerned. :-) I
like the movement within these patches and the flow of the piece as a whole
though. And yes, it does strike me as a piece to colour a passage between the
stars. Though not one of a certain British origin, including golden hearts and
more arms than necessary or those of American descend with evil overlords. :-)
The more volatile and earlier science fiction would benefit from these
wonderous and awe-inspired filanderings. No names spring to mind, because SF
was never my forte, but impresions from a few short stories easily spring to
mind.
So from very different points of view, both are of interest to me and both
intrigue me. Thanks for this very balanced release. It's good to know, that
you don't stop kicking and enjoying the music. Keep on!
Warm regards
Julien
