I have an ADSL connection.
I would be happy to describe how I connect if someone will just tell me
what they need to know.

Dave, I tried the network configurator but had no
success with it.
I wonder if someone can point me to a site that contains the details
of
how I can connect my machine up to the net. I need
something that can
really explain to me what I need to do and why.
It's difficult to help as long as you don't indicate the way you
connect to the internet, but if you have a DSL connection, the command
pppoeconf, as root, will do the job. AFAIK it's the standard way in
Debian.
Good luck,
Y.
