There's also a drum sound-font collection that was posted on LAU by
James Stone a few years back there. Eventually a .torrent would be the best option..
Just in case you don't know but it is technically possible to host the
torrent on the server if you run a torrent server/app as a background
process. This could be quite a handy method of distribution for these
large files as the server is always on so the torrent will be always
available.

Usually we pull via rsync provided by the authors/distributors.
ie: you provide a rsync URL, we setup a cron job to mirror it on
download.linuxaudio.org
