theres a LADSPA plugin, "Karaoke",

that probably does the same thing, you can apply it to WAV files with
ecasound or applyplugin.
Thanks Steve. I'll try out ecasound. Any suggestions on tuning
Karaoke? I couldn't get as good results as I could with xmms'
plugins.
