Greetings !
I have an HP Deskjet 6540 that I've used for more than a decade. I
owned another before this one, used it for probably an equal time. My
work requires a reliable printer and I've been very happy with
it. Alas, it's no longer in production but I imagine that HP sells a
model that replaces it.
Well, HP Inc's current line of printers is built to a different
philosophy than the old workhorses of HP were. So a "model that
replaces it" is to be taken with a grain of salt.
I have a HP Laserjet 4000 with a duplex unit and network card
(JetDirect). It serves me fantastically since 15 years on Debian but
also on other OSes and I am installing its second toner cardridge only
now. Can be found second hand, make sure it has a duplex unit for saving
paper.
