there was a talk of the freebob guys at the LAC 2005 just some
weeks ago. Nice to see someone work on firewire audio for
Linux!
Freebob can support many cards, but the current implementation
leads to latencies about 50 msecs. This doesn't seem to be
fun :( .
This is old hat.
I'm yet to get around to test it but some discussions on the mailinglist
suggested _much_ lower latency.
The drivers are still considered alpha quality though so if you need the
support now it's not the best solution.
