Ico, maybe my short ALSA howto will tell you how to implement
ALSA seq functionality:

Section 4 to 7 should be all you need. There are even simple documented
code examples (complete C programs) for MIDI input, filtering and
sequencing. The longest example is about 200 lines for a simple
but complete FM synth.
