I beleive it's
possible to use the WineLib part of Wine to recompile Windows apps (and
presumably dlls like VSTs) to run natively on Linux using the WineLib API
its not that its impossible, and is already likely easier than porting a win32 VST to Mac.
i dont see anyone doing it unless a major player like Ableton, Avid, Cakewalk, or
Steinberg decides to port one of their nearly-identical kitchen-sinks to linux. do you see
any of them wanting to do that? what would make them want to do that?
