there hasn't been a whole lot of traffic on this thread, but i must
thank you for your efforts; this looks like a VERY positive development
for all of us. unfortunately, i do not currently have the time to switch
from planetCCRMA to yoper. however, reading the docs on the site leads
me to believe that a slim, efficient, distro like yoper is an ideal
candidate for an alternate audio-capable system.
I don't know that this will turn out to be "competition" pursee...It's
just
hopefully another option...which to me is what Linux was all about
anyway...as the main developers tag says on the Yoper board..
" No Windows, NO Gates,
You can now go ANYWHERE you want to"
I'm waiting to hear from the head guy there. He may not want to see that
distro go in this direction for all I know. And they do not have a "tweaked
kernel" other than they do use Con Kolivas patches in the 2.6.8 kernel. Guess
it might be time for me to figure out how to do that huh? :)
please keep us posted -- i will certainly be interested in jumping on
board once a more comprehensive selection of packages, and a tuned
kernel are included. hopefully, my time will be more free then.
best!

Thanks but the glory is not mine! :) That's one of the awesome thing's I'm
into with Linux...cool people typically helping cool people. I'm just trying
to contribute somewhere. We shall see what happens.
Cheers
