Looking at Kernel changelogs I noticed some changes to the
snd-usb-audio module in 2.6.12. I wonder if these are the cause
of the problem. Perhaps they have introduced a bug that
prevents some USB devices from working correctly.
The fact is that my Audiophile works with Kernel 2.6.11, but
doesn't with 2.6.15 (and newer alsalib on 2.6.11 as well).

Module is there: checked with modprobe -l snd-usb-*
The funny thing is that the device is seen by Alsa (it's my
hw:2).

Hello!
Did you compile the snd-usb-audio module?

I have built a 2.6.15 kernel (with the latest
Ingo Molnar's RT patch) and
when I boot on it, my USB soundcard fails to play. It is playing OK with
the 2.6.11 kernel shipped with Fedora Core 4. The device is obviously
loaded,
since aplay finds it, but when playing there is no sound whatsoever.
Any suggestions?
