Can anyone suggest a really simple MIDI sequencer,
with no extra bells and
whistles, but just Alsa MIDI in, Alsa MIDI out, with piano roll type editing and
at least 16 tracks. Ideally, storage would also be standard MIDI files.
Well, it's quirky/buggy, but I often use it anyway: Seq24 perhaps will do?
As an added bonus, it has Jack transport sync (which can be tempermental
to get working also). I think it does its actual note send/record over
plain ALSA MIDI despite having the Jack tempo sync.
