You ought to take a look at that book. It just looks hard, it's really
pretty easy. The only tool that's a must is a 6" jointer. Other tools
- clamps, router, dremel router, surform, drill, sander, jig saw,
straight edge. Nice to have - band saw, table saw or radial arm saw.
Absolute must - tons of sandpaper and elbow grease.

The one on the left I made in 1989 the one on the right was made in 1999
with four more in between. All hand made, neck-thru, oil and wax
finish. They''re getting a little worn but I play them both in bands.

but I'm not that ambitious with woodworking - I've built enough things
to know that I just can't handle the fine work. I can do functional, but
I can't do smooth and pretty. So I'm getting other people to do that
stuff - I'm just designing it and I might end up wiring my own
preamp / active EQ.
