The other limitation of my Intel HDA sound chip
that the Behringer I
ordered will fix is the inability to record anything. The laptop has a
1/8" Mic input, but the ALSA drivers for the Intel chips can't record
anything through it.
If you haven't already, you might try toggling the CAPTURE
setting and umuting the MIC levels in the alsamixer window.
