This is not possible in this case as far as I understood it. It's a
decision from the kernel guys to change device number of practically
everything. It includes stuff like "Midi Through".
I use (or used to use) static device numbers setup via
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base, but in my scripting I now totally avoid
devise numbers (for instance when connecting alsa clients). Using names
or program some logic that looks for substrings in names instead, have
proven to be much more robust.
What about the usb-audio vid/pid options to determine the devices order?
