Never mind the clicking, don't use the MIC input
for this - use the
line input!
Yea... if you're putting a "line level" device (sometimes marked as
"aux") into a mic input, you are sending a higher voltage level into than the
mic input is designed to take. I think you could actually damage something (possibly).
