@Paul, apologies, I made an incorrect assumption there.
@Thorsten, indeed the trim functions (and add functions) could be used...
I'm a bit visual in my "silence adding" workflow.. and generally add some
extra compression / mastering in Audacity after export from Ardour: hence
the extra import-export.
