sudo rmmod cpufreq_ondemand
sudo rmmod freq_table
sudo rmmod iTCO_wdt
Problem solved :-) No more xruns, at least so far.
you could also simply try:
cpufreq-set -g performance
helps on my lappy [thinkpad t21]
