That sounds like the video card hogging the system somehow.
Have you played with the video card settings?
On a matrox g400 I got bad results until I disabled DRI.
Yeah I need to look into this again. Last time I checked it seemed that
everything was in order. The NVidia drivers don't give much scope for
tweaking.
Also I need high quality video. If I can't do both then I'm not happy.
