I'm very interested in resolving this problem. Can you therefore tell me:
1) Which version of QARecord are you using (0.0.9) ?
yes.
2) Are you using JACK mode ? (I use JACK mode only
occasionally.)
Not for that session.
3) What buffering numbers are displayed in the status
line ?
No idea for that session. I haven't tested since. (see below)
4) What hardware are you using (soundcard, CPU speed)
?
It was with an rme multiface. cpu 1 ghz celeron. kernel 2.4.21 (low
lat). gcc-2.95.4.
I assume that somehow the "handshaking"
between the capture thread and the
disc writer thread does not work on your system. Let's find out, why.
It could also be a driver problem but I'm guessing we would have heard
from others by now if the multiface couldn't record long sessions. Maybe
I need to test that side of things too.
The one thing that makes me feel it is a qarecord problem is the
countdown which happened when I pressed stop. Why would it do that? It
finished on 1024 BTW and then I had to close the app. I can't remember
if it stop responding before I closed it.

Being on stage with the band in front of crowds shouting, "Get off! No!
We want normal music!", I think that was more like acting than anything
I've ever done.
