They have Ardour. They just dont have Alsa, or a kernel that's any good
for realtime. And this is coming from a FreeBSD fan.
alsa is there and compiling a kernel it's not that hard

Lennart Poettering coming
from RedHat these days (PulseAudio, systemd, etc.), Linux is getting more
wacky by the year. BSD might be a refuge from the madness if they were
more desktop oriented.
apt-get purge pulseaudio systemd
apt-get install sysvinit
