Under Windows I can 'sync' two cards over s/pdif to ensure that they run
at the rate set by whichever is master. My goal is only to accomplish this
using Linux.
Sorry, that was sloppy writing on my part, I meant sample accurate sync,
not "Word Clock", though its important to distinguish between sync-able
spdif ports (as in the Hammerfall and korg1212) and non syncable (as in
the SB Live/Extigy etc.). Of course, only one of your cards has to be able
to sync to spdif.
I've heard reports of problems using SPDIF or ADAT as a sync sounce, but
I've never experienced them myself.
